NIGHT TIME SHENANIGANS

Hey guys, how are you all this fine lazy sunday? I have to say, i pretty much had my lazy day yesterday as we overslept waaaay too late! We were meant to be going out yesterday evening but due to the fact it was Saturday and we had forgotten to book somewhere, we decided to switch our weekend days around. We went to Chris' parents for dinner yesterday and was treated to lovely italian meal.

Sundried tomatoes, mozzarella & seranno ham bruchetta  to start with and meatballs for main!
(excuse the camera quality)

Tonight i am very lucky and being treated to a fancy meal at one of my/our favourite restaurants! I'm so excited as we haven't been in so long. If you ever get the chance and you are in town (Glasgow), make sure you pop over to the west end and visit Spuntini! Its an italian tapas and its fucking beautiful. Honestly one of the best restaurants i've ever been too. Ha i've just realised i'm having italian food two nights in a row... Oh well i'm not complaining one of my favourite types of food to eat. Im looking forward to the fact that i can also dress up quite fancy tonight, i haven't really been "dressing up" in a while. You know, due to the fact im skint and it basically costs me £1.50 to just step out my door and thats not even doing an activity (obviously it dosen't, but i'm trying to emphasise my poverty i hope you get where i was going with that...).

I will have the post up tomorrow as i'll be in quite late and we're also going to see a movie ;) so making a proper night of it! I also need to film and edit a few videos tomorrow, so fingers crossed i get something up on Youtube!

OUTFIT DETAILS
For some reason, i wanted to try and do an androgynous french kind of styled look. I think i achieved what i was going for. I know i was wearing heels but i really wanted to wear a pair yesterday, even though they arent really androgynous. I would say the look is kind of french and androgynous. I wanted to wear a t-shirt rather than a smart top, just to get the androgynous edge i was going for. Then i added my cardigan for some warmth as i was only stepping outside into a car and into a house again, so there was no need for a big coat! And omg im so in love with this bag! I couldn't help but use it again, i'm sorry as it probably will make alot of appearances on here :P

REVIEW: NAILTIQUES CUTICLE CARE OIL

The Brand
Nailtiques is a Florrida based brand that has been going since 1990. They are an innovator of healthy natural nails. Which is why they believe in using the highest quality of ingredients as well as using as many natural ingredients that they can. There are multiple products that they have which can be used for many of your nail problems! I love any brands that use natural substances in their products, as i feel they are much better and useful for you and your body.

The Product
This is a cuticle care oil which can be used to help your nails and cuticles if they are dry, as well as locking in the moisture, so that you aren't having to re-apply throughout the day. It has a lot plant oils in it such as safflower seed oil, hemp seed oil (which is cannabis oil), avocado oil and tea tree oil. Which for me is a biggie as i'm more likely to believe that the product actually works as its not pumped full of chemicals. Its all nature working its magic! Theres also vitamin A & E in it. Oh and not to mention the smell of it! Its gorgeous and it lingers around for a while as well so your finger tips smell heavenly, its not a clinical smell at all!

Applying
Luckily, the application is with a roller so its very easy and handy to use. You don't have to try and dribble a bit out and end of wasting half of it! I would say to use 2-4 strokes along the length of your nail, whatever the size of your nails may be, then use your fingertips to gently rub it in. As well as rubbing into the skin around your nails, as it can help with the dryness around them. Before you apply you need to make sure your hands are washed and are dry (I also like to cream my hands at the same time, just so that they are getting their moisture & care, two birds with one stone i say). How many times a day/week you apply i would say is preference. It will depend on how your nails feel to you, i personally only applied it a few times a week but i have heard that people like to apply a few times a day. So you will have to decide. I'm not sure if wearing nail polish will affect how many times you apply as i wasn't wearing nail polish at the time of testing!

Does it do what it says on the tin?
Well i have to say i was hugely surprised (im a bit of beauty sceptic), i really did feel/find a difference in my nails. I could actually touch how soft and un-dry they had become (as well as smelling reaaaally good). I wasn't even using it a lot. I had planned to use it every day of the week but due to my forgetfulness, there was the odd day i forgot to apply it. So due to the fact i was only applying a few strokes per nail 3-6 times a week AND my nails still manage to feel awesome. I would say that this product most definitely does what it says on the tin.

Rating
8/10
The reason for this rating is the price. I personally find it a lot of money for what the product does. If you are a huge beauty/nail fanatic then maybe you don't mind spending that amount of money and its what you want/need so you'll spend it. But for me i think its a lot, saying that though, the brand is all about natural ingredients, promoting "healthy nails" and i am a sucker for a product with natural stuff rather than man made chemicals.

Disclaimer: I have been gifted this cuticle care oil all opinions are mine. I will never accept a product if i do not like it or work with a company/brand if i do not like them.

BAD ASS WINNIE THE POOH & FRIENDS

Hiya guys! How are you all today? I'm feeling good, i'm really happy with some of the small changes i've made in my life recently. They aren't significantly huge life changing decisions or "New Years Resolutions" just some minor things that i wanted/thought i needed to change. I am slowly but surely keeping up with them all daily, but you have to start somewhere right? I have to say i have felt a little different already, i don't think i'm as lethargic as i was before the christmas period. Sometimes you just get yourself into a bad routine and its really hard to shake it off! But this time as i said, it seems to be working! I don't know whats different this time, i think its to do with my mindset. I was so determined to just get on with and stop bitching. So a kick up the arse can always help ;)

Today we went for lunch with Chris' mum to the trusty ol'Linwood Farmhouse, its freaking amazing! I love the place, its just really good pub grub! The menu is huge as well, so i don't think you would struggle with trying to find something to eat. Not to mention the prices, which is good for skint folks like us ;) I had the same for lunch that i always go for in there... I really can't help it! I'm a creature of habit, what can i say or do?

OUTFIT DETAILS
As i was just pondering about the flat today and going out for lunch, i wanted something casual and pretty comfy but with a chic twist! I thought i should wear this skirt as i hadn't in a while and you guys seemed to love it! So i thought i would try and see what else i could do with it, i thought doing a plaid/grunge vibe with it would look pretty cool. So i love this top as i was a HUGE winnie the pooh fan when i was younger and it matched the red in the tartan top, i originally was going to put on my tartan litas. But Chris and i both agreed that these croc red kitten heels went much better and gave it the chic twist i was looking for! I could of just added my trusty docs or creepers but i like to mix things up a bit...  Mixing contrasting styles. Chris actually said this one of my "tame outfits" :P I knew already i was going to use this bad as its amazing! I'm so in love with it and it really helped give the elegant feel i was looking to add. I styled gold jewellery with this outfit because of the gold on my bag.

So what do you think? Did i manage the plaid/grunge/chic look?

REVIEW: ESSIE PEAK OF CHIC

Ring*- Romwomen buy here
Earrings- Primark
Brooch- Vintage

The Product
This nail polish is a part of a new encrusted collection by Essie, there are about six different gemmed goodies that you can choose from. This one is more whitish with tiny white and silver flakes, which can sometimes catch the light and give off a sparkle! Very glamourous & elegant looking! Its meant to be a "textured" kind of nail polish, rather than your usual glittery ones, which i totally agree with and understand where they were going with it. The nail polish does give a 3D effect to your nails. It can ether be used as a top coat over another colour or just by itself (or thats what i've tried with it anyway!). I've tried both just to try and give you an idea of the effect it does have and what it can look like. I would personally use it with and without another product as i think it looks great ether way. Its up to you at the end of the day!

Applying
At first, it is a little weird as there are little bits in the nail polish and you don't expect to feel a difference to usual nail polish. Sometimes you do have to move the glitter into place on your nail, which of course means it can take a while to fully apply to both of your hands. It also depends as well on how many layers you apply. I would personally suggest you try with one, then work up to your preference. You will have to give the first layer plenty of time to dry, as it could mean that the glitter will easily move when applying again. For my nails, i added two layers as i wanted a more opaque glittery look.

1st Coat

2nd Coat

Durability
I was very impressed with how sturdy it was! I was worried with it being flakey glitter, but after a few days of washing, cooking, just generally using my hands and knocking them off things. There was not a chip in sight or a bit of glitter missing! The nail polish is VERY STURDY so you wouldn't need to worry if you wanted to put it on the night before as it will last! Maybe not if you are working heavy machinery! But i would challenge you to the test ;) As i do believe it still wouldn't matter.

Rating

The reason for this is because of the time it can take to apply as its a little fiddily, but apart from that its fantastic! I will definitely be using this a lot on my nights out, especially to add a little glitzy glamorous touch.
