Easy Like A Sunday Morning (OOTD)

Hiya guys! Last time I spoke to you, it was only the beginning of the week... Now we are about half way through! Yay, we are all going to make it to the end. I have to admit, though, my week hasn't been bad. Slow maybe, but not a bad week. I hope its been the same for you, except maybe going a bit faster? With working in retail, my busy/stress levels depend on how many people are shopping. But since its just after Christmas, believe or not, there aren't many people spending money right now. At times the shop can be basically empty! I finish tomorrow for the weekend though so it isn't too bad. Although, I've got a lot going on so I'll probably blink and be back at work again. Its always the same isn't it? The time you want to hold onto slips through your fingers before you know it. And the time you want to skip goes slower than a snail.

Now, if you were here on Monday then you will have seen my post about my local favourite & new brunch/lunch series? If not just click on the link to have a quick read & then come back! Well, this is the outfit I wore that day (& the next after work to go food shopping, I recycle outfits if they have only been worn for 2/3 hours). I didn't post it all together because I want to keep my outfit posts separate from other types of posts. That doesn't mean if I'm posting about a day out I won't share any photos of me in it, I'll just save the majority of the photos and details for an actual post itself. I just think if I'm talking about a certain topic, I don't really want to be adding photos of myself posing in random locations. I don't know, it just doesn't work for me.

Im actually quite happy with how these photos turned out, I don't know why, but both Chris & I agreed that I didn't quite look like I was into it this time. I didn't feel like I was either, no idea why! I feel like I just didn't know what to do in front of the camera. It's strange you know, taking photos of yourself in outfits, then posting it on the internet... For me, I always go into knowing what I want, how I want to look and feel. As well as how the whole photo looks and feels. If I don't see or feel the connection, then I feel like I lose it a little. I wanted it to look a bit more casual & cool. Jumped out of bed, thrown it together and ran out the door kind of vibe. I think I ended up with something completely different to want I intended in my head, but Im still happy with it and I think it all somehow works. Even the location & editing.

Dress- Topshop
Cardigan- H&M
Jacket- Unif
Boots- Next
Bag- Topshop
Scarf- Topshop
Choker- Asos
Lipstick- Limecrime in Saint

Outfit Details
As it was a fairly casual Sunday, I didn't want anything too fussy or fancy! This tartan dress really is a favourite of mine to just throw on, It looks great with a lot of things. I knew I wanted to wear these awesome metallic boots, I think the super pointed toes really make them for me and add a great touch to any look. Again, keeping to the casual theme, I wanted a cardigan to just snuggle into. Because of the speckling effect, I thought this specific cardigan would match perfectly with the boots. They also have a slight speckling detail to them. Bag-wise I went for my trusty, spacious leather backpack. I thought it matched the dark/grungy vibe already had going on with this look. Plus, as I was going to be fairly busy in this outfit I had a lot I needed to carry. There are more pockets than I know what to do with them...

Weird Kind Of Day

Hiya everyone, back with another post today! I've still not been able to film my "Updates" video yet but, I have that scheduled in my brain to do tomorrow... I haven't really had that much free time the past few days especially with putting together posts and uploading to Chictopia & Lookbook as well. So why was today a weird kind of day? Well, in all honesty its all to do with the weather really. When I first opened my eyes at an ungodly hour the sun was shining, then when I was finally able to manage to get brain signals to the rest of my body, telling it to move. I could still see some sun shining, however, when we finally got in the car and was about halfway to where we were going, the heavens decided to start spitting at us...Lovely. Also, with some added love in the shape of big grey heavy clouds. Oh the joys of living in a fairly miserable-weather kind of country.

As I have been writing this heavy rain has been falling from the skies above, I nearly didn't go out to get my camera from the boot. But I told myself to quit being a wimp as it was only for 2 minutes and I did have my hat on. It wasn't as if it really mattered anyway, I was retiring for the evening. So who cares if my hair went all flat and wet?

Where were we going today? I hear you ask, well to put it bluntly, to hand some CVS out to try and get a job... I handed quite a few out but whether or not I hear back from anybody is another story. I shall keep you all updated though!

Hat- H&M buy here
Shirt- George at Asda (supermarket)
Skirt- H&M
Flatform Brogues- Office
Bag- Vintage (from the 60s!)
Lipstick- Clinique

OUTFIT DETAILS
So as I mentioned that I was handing out C.Vs, I wanted something smart yet casual. Something comfy enough to walk around in, but also said PLEASE HIRE ME. What do you think? Did I get that look? I really didn't mean to go for tartan again...It just sort of happened and I didn't want to wear any of the pastel colours that all my shirts seem to be in...As well as not re-wearing yesterdays outfit as I knew I was going to be posting today. I went for the all time favourite flatforms because as I said in yesterdays post, I want to get back into heels. Without crippling my feet today I opted for the flatform look, also these are flatform brogues and the last time I checked brogues are smart!

Didn't You Hear? Autumn Is Here.

Hiya guys, been a while, how are you all? Have you had a good summer, or lucky enough to still be enjoying sun & freedom? I'm not going to get into what i've been up too or explaining my disappearance as I am planning to do an "Updates Video" on Youtube which i will also be posting on here. So I'll just be doing a general chatty post today, hope you don't mind too much! So today we just popped along to Xscape (now Soar), for something to eat with Chris Gran. Then we popped along to the arcade games as Gran is an avid coin gambler, of course, just like most of that generation... And they say we, the younger generation, are frivolous with our money. Believe me, you don't understand the definition of frivolous with money until you've witnessed a grandparent at the arcades! In all honesty though, Chris Gran DOES NOT have a gambling problem. Or so we are lead to believe ;)

I think every person from each generation has some sort of memory of going to these sorts of places, or it may just be a UK thing. I remember being about 5-6 years old and going to a place called Hayling Island, an island (duh obviously with a name with the actual word island included...) with one of those british seaside towns, which had a small fair and rides. As well as a small arcade and play area inside. The place was called Funland. I can honestly say I loved going, I even had my 5th birthday party there. Im pretty sure I had some of my happiest moments and memories there. From my memory, as a child, it was totally awesome! I know now, that if I was to return (which im sure I will, as i'd love to show Chris!) I wouldn't understand the fascination I had, the delight it brought me. Even now, as Im thinking about the place i can taste their chips from the chippy and the sweet doughnuts. Mmm! I wonder if its changed much from my last visit? It didn't change much in the time I even visit as a child...

Warning: There are a TONNE of scratches ALL OVER my hands and legs from our kittens Mufasa & Valentino! I haven't had a fight with a thorn bush...

Dress- Fat Face (Gift from Mother in Law!)
Heels- Asos similar here
Clutch- Internacionale
Necklace- Primark
Lipstick- Mac in Craving

OUTFIT DETAILS
Originally, I had a completely different outfit in mind, except for the shoes I kept them. I wanted something pretty casual & not so out there for my first post coming back (more info coming in my updates video). I was also just going for relaxed lunch so I thought this would be comfy enough while giving me room to eat ;) I stuck to the red/white colours with this outfit and I thought the pop of yellow in my clutch added that extra something, without going over the top. Also, yellow matches pretty well with red. I went for heels even though they aren't casual because I really want to get back into wearing different shoes and heels again. Need to re-break my feet in!

ANOTHER TRIP TO OUR WEDING VENUE

Hiya everyone! How has your weekend been? I've had a great busy weekend! We went back to the wedding venue as we needed to just go over a few bits as well as showing my dad around! That was pretty exciting as it was his first time there, so i was looking forward to hearing what he thought about the place. He wasn't overly excited, he is a male i suppose, but he definitely showed interest and was talking about it. So im pretty sure that he was impressed :P I got some video footage of the journey again, i've not included the venue as we are keeping that a secret right now. I don't know if i'm going to announce where it is on twitter just before or if im going to wait until afterwards. Also, i'm not sure if i'm going to share the wedding photos or not. It is a personal private day and isn't just my day. It's Chris' as well so will have to talk to him and see what he thinks about it!

My dad treated us to some lunch afterwards, i hadnt seen him since christmas and i can't remember when Chris last saw him so it was nice to catch up! We actually went to a baxters restaurant... i know! Who knew they had places to eat?! Because we don't really know the area we had to ask someone to direct us somewhere and thats where they sent us! We all thought it was the name of the next village :P We weren't able to stop for photos at the borders ether, we were running a little late, it was raining loads and afterwards we just wanted to find a place to eat. Stopping for photos and photography wasn't really a priority. Also because we came out of the venue a different way than we usually go we were also focused on finding the right way home, the roads were treacherous as well as there was tonnes of snow! It was quite sludgy so Chris was pretty much making sure he had control of the car.

Had a good ol'classic scottish dish of haggis neeps (turnip) & tattys! (potatoes) I love it :P

We got back pretty late and went for some dinner ourselves, so had to take photos in the dark!! Still getting used to it tbh!

OUTFIT DETAILS
I wanted something pretty smart and casual, plus the last time i went down i was pretty scruffy. I thought id pair this cute plaid dress with my tartan litas. Plus the tartans were a little different and i thought they werent pretty well together. Im wearing this cardigan constantly at the moment as its freezing here! I've also got a new obsession with this leather trench... i just think its so cool and i've not seen anyone in the blogosphere with one so i like that. I don't like to be the same as everyone :P

Also, don't forget to check back later ether here or on my youtube for a video of our journey/trip!

BAD ASS WINNIE THE POOH & FRIENDS

Hiya guys! How are you all today? I'm feeling good, i'm really happy with some of the small changes i've made in my life recently. They aren't significantly huge life changing decisions or "New Years Resolutions" just some minor things that i wanted/thought i needed to change. I am slowly but surely keeping up with them all daily, but you have to start somewhere right? I have to say i have felt a little different already, i don't think i'm as lethargic as i was before the christmas period. Sometimes you just get yourself into a bad routine and its really hard to shake it off! But this time as i said, it seems to be working! I don't know whats different this time, i think its to do with my mindset. I was so determined to just get on with and stop bitching. So a kick up the arse can always help ;)

Today we went for lunch with Chris' mum to the trusty ol'Linwood Farmhouse, its freaking amazing! I love the place, its just really good pub grub! The menu is huge as well, so i don't think you would struggle with trying to find something to eat. Not to mention the prices, which is good for skint folks like us ;) I had the same for lunch that i always go for in there... I really can't help it! I'm a creature of habit, what can i say or do?

OUTFIT DETAILS
As i was just pondering about the flat today and going out for lunch, i wanted something casual and pretty comfy but with a chic twist! I thought i should wear this skirt as i hadn't in a while and you guys seemed to love it! So i thought i would try and see what else i could do with it, i thought doing a plaid/grunge vibe with it would look pretty cool. So i love this top as i was a HUGE winnie the pooh fan when i was younger and it matched the red in the tartan top, i originally was going to put on my tartan litas. But Chris and i both agreed that these croc red kitten heels went much better and gave it the chic twist i was looking for! I could of just added my trusty docs or creepers but i like to mix things up a bit...  Mixing contrasting styles. Chris actually said this one of my "tame outfits" :P I knew already i was going to use this bad as its amazing! I'm so in love with it and it really helped give the elegant feel i was looking to add. I styled gold jewellery with this outfit because of the gold on my bag.

So what do you think? Did i manage the plaid/grunge/chic look?
