Summer Loving

Hiya guys, sorry I have been MIA again, I always seem to fall off the face of the earth with blogging... Woops. There's always a reason & it's always the same reason as well. I'm not going to get fully into it right now but I am doing a dedicated blog post on it soon, so stay tuned! When I'm not blogging or creating videos, I do miss it terribly. I find it all quite therapeutic,  the concepts of the videos & photos, choosing which photos to use, the editing of both the videos & photos. I have no idea why. Of course, when there's a lot to do it can become overwhelming, which is why it is sometimes hard to start. But once you have started, once i've started, I don't want to stop and my head is full of ideas.

I actually received an e-mail a few days ago from godaddy saying that my 2 year renewal of my domain had gone through. That is actually what gave me a little kick up the arse. I thought to myself, fuck, that's when I decided to rebrand and start again. But what have I actually done? So I thought I really need to get back to the drawing board and set myself some actual realistic goals.  I do have quite a bit of content I still need to sort through from a few months ago when I went to Belfast.

I'm also off to back "home" next week for a few days so I'll have quite a bit to post from the trip as well! It's been almost 5/6 years since I have actually been to Havant/Chichester since I moved up to Scotland a few years ago. There is so much excitement in me. It will be so weird being back in childhood places again. I'm such a different person from who I was, an awkward, probably over dramatic teenager.  Who thought they knew better, when in reality, a lot of the time at that age you really don't.

So I am going to leave this short but sweet post for you guys for now, I'm hoping it won't be too long before I post again. I just really wanted to get these photos up before the trip because I'll be posting about the trip afterwards. I'm maybe going to try and post while I'm away so I don't scare myself with having a mountain of things to get through when I arrive home. But we will see. I don't trust myself to follow my actual plans! Oh well, hehe!

In all honesty, I can't remember what I was doing the day we took these photos or the exact reason behind wearing this. From what I can tell, I was clearly going for shades of purple when putting it together... I know i've wanted to style this kimono with this dress. So thats probably how I choose the wedged trainers and white bag. The shades & hues go well together. I also probably wanted to try and clash style, as always, with the sporty wedged trains and almost boho vibe of the kimono and round sunglasses.

Grunge Revolution

Hiya guys, how are you all today? Have you had a good saturday? Have you been busy, relaxing, shopping, working or cooking? Let me know down below, I want to know what you get up to on your saturdays/weekends. It's always nice to hear what people get up too, it's one of my my favourite things to ask customers when I've been working. I just feel it's interesting. Are you the same? Are you nosy with other people's lives, or are you just not that bothered. Which is most certainly fine if you feel this way!

I also want to apologize for not posting as many outfit posts or even being able to upload my outfit from valentine's day...  Due to the wonderful & unpredictable Scottish weather, I always seem to be working when the sun decides to visit Scotland & of course, when I'm off it's raining. Typical. It wouldn't be life though if it decided to work out perfect, would it? But yes, back to no outfit posts. Ive also been working in the late afternoons/early evenings, so when I've finished work I'm 9/10 times not doing anything to have an outfit to show for, or it's too dark! But alas, light evenings have now begun here. So hopefully I'll have a lot more time to play around with in the evenings to shoot some outfit posts.

As a fashion/style blogger & style enthusiast, I really do feel it's important to share more casual outfits and what you wear when you aren't really trying too hard. But, still want to look stylish. You can keep the "chic" & "stylish" on your down days... Hence why I think it's awesome when bloggers share what they are wearing when they are just running about for the day. Sometimes you're more out there pieces & heels just aren't suitable! I feel my first outfit posts back have been more for those days when I'm not really busy but I am actually having to step out my front door... Although I do feel my day to day style is a bit more grungy & dark than my night time or dressing up style. I tend to go for really girly silhouettes when it comes to those times.

As you can also see in these photos, I've started playing around a bit more with makeup. Although, I still go for the "au natural" look 98% of the time. I am enjoying the learning process of putting products on my face. I do want to learn more as I feel it is so fun and can really add alot more to an outfit sometimes! I can't promise I will be putting this much effort in all the time! But, you will at least see me wearing some lipstick with a bare face.

Also, can I just add how much I am in love with this Limecrime "salem" Velvetine?! The colour is just out of this world and soooo beautiful! It's the perfect 90s, brown grunge, lippie! I can't help but feel super badass in it. I'm sure I will be putting this bad boy on my lips a lot! I'll try not to overuse it. Too much anyway. Speaking of brown, 90s grunge lippies, Limecrime have actually brought out another called teddy bear, it is also very dreamy and on my wishlist.

I was actually visiting my grandparents today, hence why I needed a casual yet cool look. Just as well I didn't go out and put heels on as we ended up walking up the highstreet. I'm not sure I could have been bothered with actually having to walk in my heels today... Sometimes it's just nice to put on heels to look good. If you know what I mean? You know, when you are actually just going to be sitting for most of the day, but the heels just add that extra glam or something. But yes, I wanted easy glam today. So rose gold pointed flats it was.

So, I have a confession. I actually wore this outfit a few weeks ago. I don't really care much about recycling outfits, in fact, I encourage it. You know something also looks great & you feel great in it, why not throw it back on when you can't be bothered? Saves a lot of time & stress. It's still a little chilly in Scotland, so I remember wanting to wear this jumper because it was warm, it's also great for throwing on & looking great because of the boxy fit. Tucking it into the skirt also helped show off the top of the skirt which I think is great because of the cute little peplum.

I instantly feel put together and comfy in this skirt, which is one of the reasons I always thrown it on! I went for my topshop bomber because I wanted to tie in with the orange jumper & I think brown looks great with orange. In my opinion. Again, wanting to try and keep to the same kind of colours, I chose the skirt & bag because 1) the shoes have white on them, 2) the shoes are also super chic & comfy and 3) I couldn't be bothered choosing another bag. The white on the shoes really sold it for me to put them on...

BETTY BOOP YOU CLASSY GIRL

Hey everyone :) i've not really done much today, went to see Chris' grandparents and he treated them to a Chinese for lunch. It was delicious and i have leftovers for munchies later wooo! For the past few years its been a bit of a tradition to see them on a wednesday and go for some food. So it was a bit of a thank you. After i've posted this (as well as my lookbook & chictopia) and had some dinner i think i'm going to have a look around the flat and see if anything needs a tidy. Theres so many things that i want to tidy up in the flat or move about, like storage cupboards and under our bed, but i can't do that until we save for a shed to put in the back garden. Its fine though as after the wedding we're going to work on making the flat a little but more homely and "ours". So we've both agreed to not worry about that sort of stuff until we are officially Mr & Mrs! But it still dosent stop you from wanting to get in there and get on with it!

Todays outfit is actually from today, unfortunately i was un-able to photograph what i originally wore yesterday. I was so annoyed and angry at myself, basically there was a wine glass of baileys in the shelf of the fridge door. Just before we went out food shopping, we were obviously checking to see what we actually needed. Too many times we've not checked, only to go shopping, come back and realise that theres more than you'd like to admit you've forgotten. So i'm going to look in the fridge i grab the door and swing it open realllyyy fast only to have a full wine glass of baileys and milk (i dilute every alcohol with something i'm a weakling) to fall right onto me then onto the floor and smash. I was not impressed.

I really wanted to get yesterdays outfit captured as i quite liked it, but i'm gonna have to wait until the top has been washed and dried now. Oh well i guess its something to thrown on when i don't know what i'm doing! Also todays photos are taken in daylight! Just with Chris working now (works from home but i don't like to disturb him!) when he finishes its dark, but it already seems to be getting lighter in the evenings weird...

Jumper- Vintage at Tarte
Dress- Laura Ashley at Charity Shop
Hat- H&M
Boots- H&M
Bag- Market Abroad
Necklace- H&M
Ring- Primark
Lipstick- Topshop in Brighton Rock

OUTFIT DETAILS
I started off with the dress and i thought it would look cool layered together with this jumper. I also liked how it brought the dress down from being overly girly, plus the little bit of pink in it matched. I couldn't choose between 4/5 pairs of shoes but i decided to go for the teal boots to match the slight green/blue in my jumper. I was going to add maybe cons/creepers but i didn't want he outfit to be too grungy. I thought, as well as the hat, the heeled boots give the outfit a more of a "chic" touch. As well as still being a little tough with the oversized black sweater. I added my converse bag to add a casual touch and one of my favourite necklaces as i think its awesome and the colours in it is gorgeous!

EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL

Hey guys, this post is so long over-due that i really should get a little wrist slap from you all ;) So a few months ago me and Chris decided to go up to Edinburgh, for the "fringe festival" they have every year that runs pretty much all August. I had never been before so i was really looking forward to it. We were going to see a fashion photography exhibition as well, but unfortunately we were un-able to get any video footage or photos of it due to whatever rules they had. The dates for the festival next year are 1-25th August, so if you are interested in going thats when you can! I know its called the "fringe" festival but (im going to try and explain the best i can what its all about, incase some of you have never heard of it. Im pretty sure everyone in the UK knows about it but i could be wrong!) it isn't actually about people with a fringe.

Its basically an event thats on for 3 weeks and its all about entertainment and shows. Theres big and small events put on all over the place. You can just walk down the main street if you want, and trust me theres plenty of entertainment just doing that! There are tonnes of people handing out flyers to get your interest, so even in the evenings i think you would struggle to not find something that would tickle your fancy. There are big names that go as well as people who are trying to get their name and act out there. We didn't go to any shows or even sit in a pub to listen to a band, we were pretty content with walking up and down the main street. It was my first time going as well, so i was just excited by that!

If you want more information then go to the official website.

Here are some photos i got of the day, so you can at least see a wee bit what its all about. Also, please don't judge me on my editing skills! I'm still learning...

Edinburgh Castle

I really love the one below of the band, i love how they are standing together and joking. I would of preferred to get a closer one of just them but, because of where i was standing at the time i didn't want to obstruct anyone or seem like a creep. Also, you have to be so careful when photographing people out on the street, because legally you can't actually take a photo of someone without their permission.

Look how busy it gets! Its one of the busiest times for Edinburgh, as theres so much going on. There were so many different languages and cultures it was awesome to be walking down the street. It really felt like we were abroad, we aren't used to hearing so much variety. I really love when you go somewhere and its so diverse, i really feel the world needs it more.

I had to get this photo, to show off this girls rad bright orange Dr. Martens!

So we pretty much just walked around looking at the people on the street, i did go into my favourite vintage shop. And yes i did buy a few things! I was going to do a haul video about it, but by the time i went to do one i had too many things so i decided to just haul about recent purchases. I have yet to get that one up but i've been having problems with that specific clip so i need to have a look at it tomorrow. If you would like me to do a specific haul from Edinburgh, then please just let me know below! We went and sat at a park for a wee while as well.

As you can see, i have alot of things in my hands! If you want me to do a haul from Edinburgh, please let me know below!

We had the sun for like 30 mins, so we went and sat outside a little cafe down a random street.

I love rummaging through rails of clothing and charity & vintage shops, you really never know what you are going to find! Its fantastic when you find a hidden gem.

OUTFIT DETAILS
It is Scotland, so i knew the weather was going to be a bit temperamental. So i couldn't go bare legged! So i threw on some grey tights, I thought they really matched the tone of the colour of my very pale pink dress! I then decided to wear these kitten heels as i wanted some height, but i knew i would be walking all day. Which is why you should definitely invest in some kitten heels! I then threw on my oversized boyfriend coat, which you have all seen a lot of recently. But this was actually the first time i ever wore it! I wore my big hat to add a bit of "something" to my outfit and i had my green backpack because 1) the colour and 2) i had ALOT to carry. I have to say, this is actually one of my favourite outfits ever (also that ive blogged about) as i just felt it worked together so well and was really easily put together. Everything just seems to work with this outfit, I love the outcome of it. What do you guys think?

Once we were finished with walking around and shopping we went for something to eat for our dinner. We'd already decided before we went that we would stay for something. We actually went back to one of my favourite restaurants, called Maison Bleue. If you go to Edinburgh then definitely check it out. Theres two reasons its a favourite of mine, its gorgeous inside its got a kind of Moroccan vibe to it. Which is funny as i would describe the menu as french Moroccan with a scottish twist! The restaurant is actually labelled/described as French, North African Scottish vibe so i was close. The other reason is... thats where Chris proposed and we became engaged! :D It was so weird and nice going back! We hadn't been since so there was an un-usual feeling about the place! But i reckon that feeling wont ever go away, Chris felt a bit nervous and sick as it reminded him obviously.

Our view out the window.

Good ol'scottish thistle on the table ;)

Garlic covered mussels for a starters, omg they were amazing. One of the best starters i've ever had!

For our main we both went for the same. I absolutely loved it, its honestly one of the best meals i've ever had and can't wait to go back and have it again! It was meatballs, with poached egg in a Moroccan style sauce. There was peppers, lentils and beans. Amazing.

It is a short video, i'm just getting used to the whole "vlogging" thing! With time i think i'll get better.
